WHAT IS SUMMER SWIM TEAM?
Summer swim team is an extension of the RIO Swim Club (EVO’s competitive swim club) and is designed for entry level swimmers. EVO Dolphin level swimmers are invited to participate. We will also accept children that can swim freestyle and backstroke who have not swam with our program before (evaluations are required).
If your child can not swim freestyle or backstroke, we do offer stroke lessons to help get them ready for the summer swim team.
The name “Summer Swim Team” refers to a specific entry level training group that can swim freestyle and backstroke as a minimum requirement. However, all RIO Swim Club training groups (Advanced Stroke, Development 1 & 2) will participate together in all the summer time competitions over the course of the 8 week season.
Summer Swim Team offers a great experience for those new to the sport or those looking for a well run, high quality program with excellent coaching for their children. Whether your child just wants to swim for the summer or wants to try swimming as a sport, this is the right program for you.
