Evo Swim School

EVO Swim School is pleased to announce that Taylor Gries, age 9, has graduated from the Dolphin class level.  She can now display the basics of all four competitive swimming strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly). Taylor has completed the EVO Swim School curriculum for group lessons and is ready for our Advanced Group.  Advanced classes swim the length of our pool and receive an introduction to a swim team environment.  Here She will learn how to turn on the wall, read a pace clock, and perform new drills with fins on her feet.  On behalf of Taylor’s instructor, Chelsea, and the entire EVO Swim School staff, we say… CONGRATULATIONS Taylor!!!!

EVO Swim School is pleased to announce that Ethan Baum, age 5, has graduated from the Porpoise class level. He has learned to swim a proper freestyle stroke with the side breathing technique and backstroke.  He is now ready for the Dolphin class where he will learn breaststroke and butterfly.  On behalf Of Ethan’s instructor, Kelly, and the entire EVO Swim School staff, we say…CONGRATULATIONS Ethan!

EVO Swim School is pleased to announce that Kaitlyn Schlimgen, age 5, has graduated from the Otter class level.  ShHhhHHHe can now swim independently from the wall to the instructor and roll on her back for a security breath.  She will be moving to the Seal class to perfect her kicking skills with improved breath control.  On behalf of Kaitlyn’s instructor, Jennifer, and the entire EVO Swim School staff, we say…CONGRATULATIONS Kaitlyn!

Jihan has completed the EVO Swim School curriculum for group lessons and is ready for our Advanced Group.  Advanced classes swim the length of our pool and receive an introduction to a swim team environment.  Here She will learn how to turn on the wall, read a pace clock, and perform new drills with fins on her feet.  On behalf of Jihan’s instructor, Lorraine, and the entire EVO Swim School staff, we say… CONGRATULATIONS Jihan!

Clara has been at EVO Swim School for about a year and a half. She is another example of what consistency can do for your students over longer periods of time. She has complete independence in the water and we are proud of what she has accomplished so far.

Beth, Clara’s mom, had this to say…Clara started just after her 2^nd birthday and was already really into swimming, but no where near an independent swimmer.  Sometimes progress seems slow, but I have to remind myself that she’s barely 3 ½ and can independently swim across the pool and has been able to for a year (with the instructor needing to be less close over the year).  On vacation last summer just before her 3^rd birthday, we got lots of stares, questions asking how old she was, etc. as she happily swam between mom and dad in the Disneyland pool loaded with much older kids and their floaties.

The consistency and routine has been good for Clara.  With other swim lessons we have taken, you sign up for a “session” and then often start over at the start of a new lesson.  At EVO, the routine is consistent and consistent between levels as well, so that when you move to a new level, you just add a skill, but continue with the same routine.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says that kids are not developmentally ready to swim until at least age 4, given what I’ve seen at Evo, I don’t think this is the case.

EVO Swim School is pleased to announce that Naman Shukla, age 7, has graduated from the Sea Lion class level.  He can now display the ability to swim a basic freestyle stroke (otherwise known as “big arms”) while taking a breath on his back.  He is prepared for the Porpoise class where he will learn the freestyle side breathing technique and backstroke.  On behalf of Naman’s instructor, Lorraine, and the entire EVO Swim School staff, we say…CONGRATULATIONS Naman!
